Tonight I was fortunate enough to make it to my old High School yet again, who's team has been on an amazing streak. Before tonights game the team was 20-0.. Last time my school had an undefeated team was 1956 when the team ended the regular season 20-0. Tonight, their last opponent for the year was the other Catholic High School in NW Indiana, Andrean of Merillville, IN.
Tonight I went a little different. Instead of 1/8 power on the flashes I went 1/4 power. So instead of the typical 1/200 @ 4, ISO 1600 I was shooting 1/200 @ 4.5 ISO 1000. Used my recently acquired Canon 540EZ flashes fired by Cactus V5 triggers. I had 2 sets of lights on each side of the court, one used by myself the other consisting of 580EX's used by my friend also shooting the game. Ended up a good thing having 2 sets of lights as the local newspaper shooter didn't have time to setup lights after arriving late due to another event so I let him use the second set of lights as they weren't being used at the time.
I did, for sh!ts and giggles try a few shots firing both sets of lights. Wow, what a difference with 2 lights at 1/4 power. I was shooting 1/200 @ 4, ISO 400. Never shot basketball with that low of an ISO before.. but if I have to in the future I think that would be a better way than 2 lights @ 1/2 power.
Gary Diocese Bishop Dale Melczek starting the night with a prayer
Senior Adonis Filer goes for the layup
Andrean offense takes a shot
21-0 sign
Celebration.. 21-0 ends the season. First team in school history since 1956 (if memory serves correct, might had been 1955.)
The sign says it all.... Going into Regionals next week, Undefeated. 21-0
