Pyrrhuloxia
I hope I'm correct in identifying this bird.
I came back into my bedroom from eating breakfast, and had my window shade drawn and this cute little bird was perched on a branch right there.
I've compared it to a few websites of Texas birds and it looks like a Pyrrhuloxia.

Ahh, so Pyrrhuloxia is of the cardinal family? interesting, i really should rent a book on birds from my local library some time.
