I went out to photograph Spoonbills over the weekend and practice hand holding the 800mm. Yeah..piece of work!!

Nice pic, but I'm not really sure about the crop. You should try to leave some "room" for your subject to fly into with your cropping. This one is a bit too centered horizontally and too low in the frame vertically.

There is plenty of room in front of the bird and I totally understand what you mean.
