Went for a walk up into the bush today. We need some rain here very badly & i could see the mosses drying out & there was no fungi to be seen at all which is unusual.

Saw heaps of pademelons but no way would they let me get a shot in...they like the stuff you can't walk 3 feet into.

The polarizer did wonders...i cant believe i didnt have one from the start.

Always beautiful & cool in here...

Strangler Fig...the original tree is now just a dead log inside. will have to talk to shay about that purple i think.

Eclectus Parrot...plenty there but all in deep shade so very hard to shoot straight up at f/5.6

37383327-M.jpg

Crimson Rosellas...this is all they would show me.

Walked back & headed for the other side of the mountain to see if i could maybe get one or two hang-gliders...

What a sight..some competition was on. Competitors had to take off & negotiate several gates (GPS points) so i was told over 65 klms (40 miles)

Hows my luck ! I really didnt expect to find any.

I lost count at about 40 (see them in the top left of the photo ?)

You're lucky day. Great shots. I always get excited when I see one of those fools leaving their lives to fate like that.

Mate i was champing at the bit to push one of them out of the way & taking off myself. One of them took off ...climbed almost verticle & then dived ..my heart stopped for a second. He was ginning like a cheshire cat.

    Tks for looking

Tks lynn. The parots are almost too saturated to do anything with.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Tks harry. Never run out of shuff to shoot here.

My 400mm lens went to sydney today...they say for about 3 weeks.

I had only had it 2 days & was in yosemite when i slid the hood out without removing the lens cap & the hood jammed fast half extended. It hasnt worried me but now i have a polarizer i need to get in there to put it on & turn it umph.gif

They said it may well be warranty as they hadnt heard of it happening...so no more birds for a month ! Just when i was getting into it.
