Kim Waters at Beantown Jazz Festival
What a great thing this was. Kim Waters was the final act at the Family Arena stage of the Beantown Jazz Festival. I'd never heard him before, but I'm going to try to hear him again. He's in the straight ahead mainstream of sax players. Cannonball Adderly comes to mind. There is also definitely some Sonny Rollins there as well as more contempory influences. (I guess the contemporary jazz sax player who isn't influenced by Rollins might not be worth hearing.)
The concert took place in the South End, and I was there in the sweet light.
Kim's band included his brother, James Waters, Jr. (I assume they are brothers.)
I don't know the name of the drummer, but I intend to find out.
Ditto the keyboard player.
I wasn't the only photographer with this idea. Is one of these one of you guys?
This a band that is hard to sit and listen to. And why would you? I was dancing and shooting. Lot's of people were dancing.
I think she is in love.
Well, me, too, really.
If not now, when?

Great collection, especially #1 which really captures the moment. You can almost hear the music just looking at it.
And #1 jumped right out at me too. I also really like the expressions on the shot with the older woman and the youngster in the foreground. There are some wonderful captures in there.
Thanks for sharing,
Chris
