I hated to loose this photo of my wife because she loved this moment at Ren Fest. But the damn lighting was so bad color just would not work. So I tried just making it B&W. I did all the adjusting in Camera Raw.
Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I just did this one as well. The sun was hard on her face but I love her look in this shot.

I will comment on the 1st shot. Just in general even when shooting candid snaps you need to watch out for your backgrounds..those 2 dude behind them are distracting. The BW processing seems fine. Overall though the mix of hard sun light and dark shadows on the faces is killing the shot for me. Next time wait till they are all in the shade for example if you are trying to improve the quality of the images..I knwo that is hard to do in these kinds of situations.

    Thanks for the advice!
The shot was one of those take at the moment shots. My wife noticed the A&M hat and her being an Aggie she Whooped at the girl and she came running up and bam the shot was taken. Aggies are strange like that :)

I echo what Daniel pointed out but wanted to add not to overlook fill flash in these situations and perhaps use the sunny 16 rule.
