One of the bonuses of living is Florida is that I get a stream of visiting photographers coming down that I get to shoot with and to guide around the area. The last few days I had the privilege of hanging out with two photographers from Illinois.

Usually the #1 location is the Viera Wetlands.

Mornings can be pretty good there.

The locals are usually pretty cooperative about posing for visiting shooters.

The sandhills cranes are pretty good about close-ups

The Merritt Islamd National Wildlife Refuge has been slow due to the drought in our area but it still provided some ops.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

WOW!! Great series as always Harry. Great variety of shots. Nice find with the hog and I too am a fan of the first image. I'd be proud to have all of them in my collection.

    Making me jealous, Harry!

Great sunrises, and I like the shot of the spoonbill on the cracked mud.

Thanks Glenn, that cracked mud was a small benefit from our ongoing drought.

Thanks Tom, i'm glad you enjoyed them.

The largest "metro" area by us is Melbourne. The closest real city would be Orlando (about an hour drive).

These are amazing! Number seven fascinates me as it looks like it could be saying one if two things by the way the wings are curled either: "Come on back..." Or he is saying "Bring it on!" Laughing.gif Great captures!

Thanks Schmoo but in all honesty that first capture is a pretty facade. Right behind that scene is a water treatment plant. As you go down the road you have a new housing development for active 55s. A tad further is a golf course, a medical center, a super church, & a home for non-active 55s. Go just a little bit further down that road and you find all the accouterments of America's homogenized society (Walmart, Target, McDonalds, Target, Pizza Uno, Burger King, Chick Fil A, etc).

At the rate we are going that picture won't be there in 10 years.
