Wednesday, I had a rare morning off work so i was off in the boat at 7:00am. The birds were busy carrying nesting material, but no young as of yet.

A few of the picks were taken a few nights previous, When I was able to free a woodstork that was tangled in fishing line. Ther were two dead birds within feet, that were also bound with fishihg line.

Excellent set Robert, perfect expsoures. thumb.gif

I once helped a wildlife agent untangle a pelican from a fishing line. Birds getting caught up in discarded and lsot fishing lines is sadly a common occurrence.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thanks Harry:
I now have an extension pole with a blade on my pontoon boat. I seem to have many opportunities to rescue birds, on my frequent trips to local rookeries near my house.

Robert, these are great. Were you hand holding a lens? I think what I mean is how did you get so many good flight pictures? Really impressive. Best, Pam

    Thanks Pam,
Yes they were all handheld, taken with my 300 f4. I am blessed by having a large active Rookery very near my house. It is only accessible, by boat. In the right conditions, flybys are in the hundreds per hour. I strive to become better with each visit.
