Monopod - What was I missing?!

I've always liked to brace my camera with my arms and strap and have never really liked using a tripod for my needs. However, I seem to be doing more and more video with my kids school activities and the bracing method was getting tiring. Using a tripod often took up too much space and someone was always knocking into a leg.

I finally bought a monopod. Sheer heaven. I even like using it as a grip when folded up. What took me so long? (they look awkward and I never thought they'd deliver).

...a monopod is a MUST-HAVE!!! :D

And after a few hours with a long lens it's nice to have something to help hold the weight.
