Thanks. I did a lot of those a while back...it's good fun...flowers with large stamens and petals work really well. And there's a guy in my flickr contacts, Brian Valentine, who has done loads of insects, too. Very cool.

You mean, Lord Vetinari! Brian's all over Holy Macro, here at Dgrin!

Lol, I had more than a few moments of WTF about that, too, and then the arrow and the shape of the frog, and then the pointed bird beak clicked for me. That might or might not be right.

IMHO the 'association' between these images, if any, is so vague and obscure as to defeat the purpose and intention of the thread. I feel it is incumbent on any poster to ensure that an image association will always be clearly apparent to anyone, and that the explanation isn't some curious aberration in the mind of the poster!

Benjamin, love your photo of the dumpster diver (http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=1723519&postcount=14748)! Cracks me up everytime I look at it. The look on his face. The fact that you only see him from the shoulders up. And that his got headphones on. Great processing as an added bonus. All around fantastic capture. Thanks for the laugh!

However, I always understood the objective of the thread is to create clear linkages from one image to the next, rather than being a guessing game to try and work out what the linkage is about.
In the very first post, Andy said (the bolding and underline is his):
btw - i think the photos should speak for themselves - iow, no need to explain the "association."
That seems pretty clear but, in the end, it's up to the participants to interpret Andy's guideline as they understand it. I may not agree with all the interpretations we see, but this is a democracy!

Of course I mean Brian. Forgot he was on this forum...I visit quite a few.
Thanks, Wil! I was standing on a hill when I shot that with a 400mm lens, many miles away from the power plant.

No association at all. Something like: "This one is as good as any other... " :cry
You posted one minute late!
But we move on!

Option B was a photo of a live tree, but I thought that was too easy.

I see BACON in both images.

Love it! That's my next experiment.
Thanks! I might have subtitled it "What a difference 40+ years make!"

What is an anastigmatic lens, anyway?
So I'm in the clear?
