Sportraits at 500mm

Took these of my daughter at a soccer tournament this weekend using my 300mm lens and 1.7tc (500mm)!! This kid loves soccer!

I love the effect of this combination of good glass and a feeling of intimacy with the subject that you cannot get with wider angles. Fantastic separation of subject and background.

I like the lighting that you had. It yields a very nice modeling of shadows.

BTW, is this also her in the latter images? Seems like just yesterday.

Very nice and sharpness is good with the tele multiplier.
I've only ever used the so called Bigma 50-500 at this range and was quite impressed with it's sharpness on the long side.

In my lineup, nothing creates bokeh like the 300mm, f2.8 lens on a full frame body. These shots weren't even wide open and the creamy bokeh still shines through. It's a bit of a beast for most portrait sessions!
