I like this, certainly the irony of what they appear to be eating versus the poster overhead.

Fun shot. For a moment, I only focused on the upper half, but I had a good laugh when I took in the rest. I love this sort of thing. thumb.gif

I feel the same--as I scrolled down I thought the top portion was real, then scrolled down and was confused for a bit:)

I would have been really confused if the writing wasn't there below her which is what made me realize she wasn't real.

    you got me.

    Thanks, all, for your comments.

Obviously, the top part of the photograph is a photo of someone else's work, which I wouldn't post on its own, of course.

The photograph is the first in a series of photographs on exhibit on the fence along one side of the Luxembourg Garden featuring women from around the world. The collection is the work of Olivier Martel and were taken over the past 37 years or so . You can read about the exhibit here.

The folks siting below it while enjoying a lunch break are demonstrators from the union of unemployed and temporary workers.

I'm thinking that perhaps a less close crop might work better in some ways - If I decide to try it, I'll post the results.

Like it a lot for many of the reasons mentioned. At first I thought it was two separate shots and had to look longer to figure out what was going on.
