This is my first run at playing around with smoke and also trying to process in camera raw. I'm just starting to play around with photoshop as well and I'm looking for pointers, feedback and other photo project ideas.

Whoah! Nice image. Those repeating rotating ripples are awesome. Is there a special method to create that or is it a random effect?

I found that if I had the near by window open to let air flow in it help give a swirl here and there. The only other thing I did was boost the blacks and roll up the brightness a little witha touch of vibrances in camera raw. I just got lucky with catching it closeup.

    Nice Ryan!

What did you use for your smoke source? I have yet to play with smoke- just fire. mwink.gif

incense is what I used against a black background with a mild light source from the left. Then I hit it with the flash on the right while leading the flash with foam barn doors. Had the window open about 4 feet away and let it swirl.
