Anytime I now try and share one of my photos through Facebook, it shows up on Facebook with the details: var sc_project=6519776; var sc_invisible=1; var sc_security="********";

Why is this? It is very ugly looking.

Plus, is publicising the security code a possible breach? Forgive my ignorance if this isn't the case, but really the main annoyance is the ugliness.

Exactly what gallery and photo did you share when this happened?

That statcounter code is the first thing you have in your bio and I don't think you have a meta data description set so through Smugmug's default process, it's picking up the statcounter code as your page description. The best way to fix this is to go set exactly what you want the page description to be in the control panel. Go to control panel / settings tab / find the option for Search engine settings / click the Change link and enter what you want the default page description to be.

Also, it's pretty odd to have statcounter code in your bio. That means it is only active on your homepage so you are only tracking homepage hits with that code. Usually the statcounter code goes in your custom footer so it's present on every page and can track all the hits on your site.

Ok, done that, but it's still happening. Maybe it'll take some time to pick up the changes?

Also, FB does some caching so it might not always show a change immediately, even after you've changed your SM site. If you want to know right away after you think you've fixed up your SM site, you can try the FB stuff in a 2nd browser that you haven't recently accessed FB with.

You'll want to do a much better job of describing your photography for search engines here

Sorry to rehash an old topic, but I decided to give it a while, try another browser and it's still happening.

can you try it now and see if it works for you?

    Thanks,

You're correct, it was one of the photos I was having issues with, but I have just tried "Be Social" with it again, and once more I see:
    " Latest Photos
Future thoughts. Latest Photos var sc_project=6519776; var sc_invisible=1; var sc_security="******";"

I have also tried other, more recent photos - ones I have uploaded only today, and again the same problem.

I just noticed, I set up a separate statcounter project for that particular page (this was before I installed statcounter to the general site). Could that have anything to do with it?

Edit: Deleted that project, but still no solution. Could it now be the cache?

Edit2: Just tried it in yet another separate, rarely used browser, but again, same old same old.

Okay, I see what the issue is (some of your code in the Gallery Description is getting through when we strip the HTML). I'll try and get is fixed asap...

Just spotted this too, so theoretically if I remove the statcounter code in the description, it should cure it?

tiaw, this problem should be fixed now if you want to add back in your stats counter code.

    Thanks,
    Scott.
