I see people wondering about the differences between SB-600 and SB-700. So, I made an effort to nail everything that is different.

Here is my in-depth comparison: Nikon Speedlight SB-700 vs. Nikon Speedlight SB-600

One feature about the 600 that I love is the auto on/ off. Mount it in the HS and it just turns on. Then it goes to sleep. Very convenient. Does the 700 do this too?

The 700 say standby on the lcd, but it has to be on.

It doesn't, but I like the hard switch for turning it on as well as going to master/slave.

Bummer. Again one of the cool features of the sb600 missed. But the 700 has some nice features too. Wish nikon would put them all in 1 unit.
