No snow, warmer weather, longer days and flowers poking up through the cold wet soil. It can only mean one thing. SPRING! :barb

Post your "In-the-dirt" flower shots here. I'll get it started.

Wow, Rhode Island has daffodils before Pennsylvania?! Ours are just popping through the dirt.

It's still early here with patches of snow still covering some ground. There's not much in the way of color is showing, but I did see some crocus starting to emerge when I was out walking earlier today.

We have daffodils here around DC, but I don't have any photos. The muddy ground doesn't make for a nice background :/

There are some from last year on my site :)

Is that what those are? I asked the person who lived on the property where I took my shot about the little weed-like flowers that were popping up like dandelions all over his yard, but he didn't know. I love these things. How long do the flowers last into the spring? I want crocus seeds!

Ah, I didn't realize you didn't know what those were since your first post was of some purple crocus. They are grown from bulbs, not sure how long the flowers last, I only know they are the first blooms I see in the spring.

Getting closer, crocus in bloom emerging from the remnants of last autumn's brown leaves.
