MiniChallenge #117 - Flight In Sport

I hadn't even considered winning, so didn't really have a theme in mind. I am on location this week, and with a 1am call tonight I have to scramble to get something up. I should have wireless but communication may be sketchy if anyone has questions.
I've decided I'd love to see everyones images of 'Flight In Sport'. Images of the diving catch, the big air dunk, skateboards, BMX bikes, snowboarders. Anything where the athlete is separated from the ground.
In quickly looking in my files, I don't have alot. This theme is purely selfish in that I'm looking to gain inspiration from your outstanding work.
My sense is this round will end, March 26. Joyce, please correct me if that's the incorrect time frame.
A quick addendum:
*** this round will end at 5:00pm on March 26, PST. (thanks Joyce! ) )
At the bottom of the thread are the un-official rules. Have fun!!
Looking forward to your inspiration.
Here are a few my own:
#1 (my favorite jumper image because she's so relaxed. I'm sure it's not proper, but I love the horse on the downside of the jump)
#2 (this one is really about the crowd in the background and their reaction)
#3 (this is a recent image. At a large format, I really like how the skater is gliding to the edge)
#4 (one of my all time favorites that I did about 1 1/2yrs ago. My PS skills are better now, and I see the holes...LOL. Nonetheless, still a favorite of mine.
OUR UN-OFFICIAL GENERAL RULES
1. Have fun sharing and seeing what others share!
2. The host supplies a topic and you post 1-3 images. The host judges the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and is not eligible to enter.
The 1st place winner then chooses the next topic, judges the winner and then passes on the baton to the new champion.
3. Any photo you’ve taken is eligible, regardless of when taken or camera used.
4. Any amount of post-processing is allowed. However, it is helpful if you list your camera and lens along with your photo.
You may comment on other contestant's images. If you want someone to leave you some critique or criticism, just ask within your post.
5. The winner has up to three days (72 hours) to begin a new mini-challenge, or the honor goes to the #2 finisher and so forth.
Guidelines:
1. Enter 1-3 photos and put them in a single post.
2. Either embed your image in the thread or, if you must, supply a link to it. Keep in mind, however, most people don't want to click to open photos hosted elsewhere (i.e. on your website).
3. Also try and resize your photos prior to posting so they're sized appropriately for viewing without having to scroll (~800 pixels on the longest side works best.)
4. Give each image you enter a title.
5. Enjoy discussion with members about their images, don't let this just be an entry thread!
6. Don't be hesitant, share'em and enter!

Seeing as the one kid stayed on, I'd say it was a competition.

In the canter gait there is a moment of suspension (one beat) when all four feet of the horse are off the ground.

I always seem to catch my daughter in the air from her back side (do you think there's something to that, like she's flying away?!)!
Now on this one, she still has ahold of one of his hands so she is still sorta attached to the ground (not technically flying), but it was a broken move - hence the "oh no" look on his face! Their right hands slipped apart so she looked (& felt) like she was flying - but didn't miss a beat when she landed (kept smiling & never lost eye contact with the audience)! I didn't realize what had happened until after the show was over - & then found out that I caught her mid-flight!
A photograph is an artistic expression of life, captured one moment at a time . . .

No stretch at all!
I was hoping you would submit some images of dancers. It's another subject that I hope to shoot at some point.
Very nice!

Some friends who are getting ready for a breast cancer walk asked me to take some shots of them.
I thought I'd post them in an effort to get a few more folks motivated.

I took this last weekend at the Missouri State High School Basketball Championships. These girls had just won their division. I struggle in trying to get the right balance with gymnasium shots.
