I'm thinking about heading up to Joshua Tree this weekend (10/1) to do some shooting.

Anyone interested in joining?

    BAH!!!

if the battery to my camera didn't just die (read I don't have the money for a new one) i would soooo go!!!

we need to plan this sometime... I've got a Jeep that could hold a few people and maybe we can get to some different vantage points to get some different angles....

    What do you think?

I visited the outskirts of this area once a few years ago. Went for a hike to a Saddleback Butte with my youngest. Maybe I'll find some pickchas..

Those lake/dam shots from the official sites are pretty impressive. Early mornings/late evenings seem like a total winner. During the day it's least interesting (IMHO), so maybe the best would be come like Sat afternoon, shoot some sunset, spend the nite (camping?), then catch the sunrise, have some breakfast and dash off?

Sounds good! If there's a site available.

This is a great idea David.

Unfortunately I'm already commited to plans on Saturday but I'll give thought to driving out for a one-day trip on Sunday.

I've been meaning to get out there for a while, but I can't make it this weekend. Probably a really nice time, too. Crowds (if it gets them) should be pretty low.

I'm tied up Saturday, but would be willing to go out Sunday - might even be talked into spending the night there Saturday (for Sunday sunrise) as I'll be in Palm Springs all day Saturday.

By the way, lots of pics taken at JT here, though maybe not what you would expect...

Well, I have to be at work in Hollywood Monday morning, so that doesn't work.

Maybe we can plan farther ahead, rather than just going by my whim of "hmmm, think I'll go to Joshua Tree".

Start putting in dates that work for you guys, and we'll make it a mini dgrin shoot out.
