Missouri River Muskrat

I found this muskrat along the banks of the Missouri River today. It was sitting in the warm sun and kept falling asleep... allowing me to slowly sneak up on it before it would wake up again. After playing this game for a while, I finally got close enough to take this picture before I snuck away, leaving it asleep in the grass.

Thanks for looking.

A cute rodent. At one time Catholics had a dispensation to eat muskrat on Fridays because it lived in the water.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
