My little boy taking care of his small plant.

Thank you very much for viewing. :D

I downloaded a trial copy of LR 3.3 to see if I can use it. I tried to process this image using the default b&w conversion and I am impressed.

Nikon D70, 50mm f1.8D lens, Exposure at ISO 200, f5.6 at 1/200 sec., b&w conversion in LR 3.3, Post-Processing in Photoshop.
Sitting quietly, doing nothing. Spring comes and the grass grows by itself.

Selective coloring just for the sake of using it rarely works but here is a definite exception where the small plant would pretty much be lost in the background without it. That is a very nice conversion as well. thumb.gifthumb

Excellent application of the selective coloring process. Like Jack, I'm not usually into the concept but you use it effectively here. thumb.gif

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thank you very much for the nice comment, Tom. I tried a complete b&w conversion but it lacks strength on the message. When I brought back the colors on the small tree, it worked! :D

Selective coloring works beautifully with this. Reminded me of my son when he planted his bean seeds and waited for them to grow.

I like the BW conversion very much, but despite what others said the selective coloring doesn't work for me. Don't get me wrong the boy's expression and the photo are great. just my opinion.

I'm with Juano on this. The pose and expression are terrific, but are diminished by the selective color gimmick. What does the full color version look like? Is there no way you could give the plant enough emphasis in B&W? For me, the kid is the star here, so the plant shouldn't dominate.

Thanks, Gabby. I do agree with that, photography is always subjective, depending on how sober we are. rolleyes1.gif Just kidding. Thanks for liking it. thumb.gif
