Some shots from this weekend, shooting my senior short film. Not my photos, my sister shot all the behind the scenes, but thought they'd be interesting to everyone!
Setting up our audio for a take
We shot this in the 3rd floor of an old department store, GREAT atmosphere, really want to come back and shoot some other stuff here some time.
Me framing up a shot
Walking through the script with my script supervisor
Flying an EX-3, recording to a Ki Pro mini which doubled as our counterweight
The new Sony OLED monitors made a world of difference
We shot the gambling den scene in our TV studio, with two 2K's directly above the table, creating this awesome hard fall-off with the shadows. We also had a brand new 18 foot jib with a remote head. Made for some awesome shots
How do you shoot an apartment scene that's supposed to be at night in the middle of the day? Nice big heavy blanket over the window!
Working the 10 foot jib for a street shot
The lucite panels on the fixed set were a pain to hide so we didn't see the reflections, we used two muslin backgrounds hung on c-stands to do it.
Office of one of our character's, lit it with that big 1K and the softbox, used two litepanel Micro pro LED's for fill, you can see the one clamped to the desk gelled to match.
Practicing a dolly move
Flying the glidecam again, it was a little overloaded unfortunately, but still worked pretty well.
