All The King's Horses

I took a stroll this morning by Madrid's Royal Palace. The King doesn't live there, but does use it for ceremonial occasions.

I shot this though an iron gate looking in on one of the courtyards:

It was around noon and the light was harsh. I couldn't ask them to re-schedule.

The carriages are generally used for guests. The King knows better and rides in an armored Rolls.

These events happen fairly often. The locals don't pay much attention, but the tourists just love the show.

The show wouldn't be complete without the Royal Streetsweepers.

Hope you enjoyed the set.

Cheers,

Many many years ago I had the opportunity to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace in London, and I thought that was quite an amazing parade.

I love your first image, Royalty sure know how to put on a display don't they.
Australia doesn't have a Royal Family, but we don't mind cause Royalty costs too much to keep :D

Nice series of images.......thanks for sharing..... Skippy (Australia)
