Self_Portrait

I was looking in a display case in an antique/thrift shop place.
Since my Nikon doesn't have "live view", I had to hold the camera
down at my waist and shoot blind.
I have to start remembering to carry around some face powder
to pat on my head to minimize that bare scalp glare if I'm going
to any more self-portraits.

I have attempted lots of shots like this, most of them failures, but I finally learned that the way you can tell the camera is pointed correctly is when the reflection that you see of the lens is pointed directly at your face. Seems obvious in retrospect, but it took me a long time to realize it.
