Is there a way to do a Buy one, get one free type offer?

I don't want to cut my prices in half.

Thoughts?

It's not the same at all... you really have to be very careful with % off coupons, especially if you set prices fairly low.

With a 50% off coupon, someone can purchase just one item or a whole bunch. There's very little control. It can end up costing you a lot of money. And I don't just mean lost profit, I mean money out of your pocket. If your profit margins aren't high enough, a 50% discount will bring their price below your cost. You have to make up the difference.

For large prints, canvas, etc, you better be setting your prices very high. Personally, I believe % off coupons are crippled until smugmug lets us limit what products they apply to. I wanted to raise my prices and give out 20% off coupons to friends. But when analyzing my numbers, I realized I'd have to price the higher cost items way beyond what I think they're worth to avoid the possibility of getting seriously screwed.

I appreciate the coupons feature, but it's only half implemented if you ask me.
