Does anyone know if there is a way to add numbers to each of the pics in a given gallery.
kind of like how Lightroom has it set-up if creating an album, to host online.

Something along the lines of a water mark would be excellent but is not printed on the final print.

My friends zenfolio account allows you to do this.

Help

    Hi Allan,

In a SmugMug gallery, near the top you should see image x of x (34 of 256).

With a SmugMug pro account, you could also add watermarks, however, it'd require you to create custom 1, 2, 3, 4 watermarks, then apply them individually.

Can you let us know your need for this? Maybe we'll have some ideas!

    Hi Steve
I have a wedding shoot coming up and I wanted to host the images in a locked folder for the married couple and their families to be able to view online, where upon I can enhance their favorite images.
The reason why I had thought about it is because I remember having an issue a while back with different resolutions on computer monitors, not sure if that still applies now, but if you were using a small screen it would change the number of thumbnails displayed per page, subsequently increasing the number of pages.

So if someone said they liked Pic 9 on Page 3 it would not relate to the correct numbering. Plus I think it is better to have a visual reference when trying to find Pic 9 instead of having to count the thumbnails, it removes the guesswork for our clients and any possible mistakes being made.

The page numbers will indeed vary based on screen size, but the 34 of 256 that Steve mentions is absolute and will not vary. The number is there in the screen. You just have to explain to the client which number you want them to look at. Alternately you could populate each caption with a manually entered piece of information like this where you manually number the photos:

    Image Order #29
