Back Yard Ducks

One of the things I love about my apartment complex is the set of three ponds in my back yard. There's a flock of resident Mallard ducks that live there year round. They are so tame that they will come running within 6 inches of your feet if they think you have food for them. I took this photo right after a rain shower with my new Leica V-LUX 20 rangefinder point & shoot. I bought it as an alternative to toting around my D7000 with battery grip. This is the first shot taken with the little Leica. I'm pleased!

Nice image Bob. I'm thinking of getting a point and shoot too for those unexpected shots. I've missed a lot of them as I don't carry my D700 around all the time (obviously).

I'm sure then that you can relate to what it takes to always have a camera with you. The D700 or D7000 with zoom lenses & battery grips can weigh a bunch and require quite a sizeable camera bag to tote around. I don't mid doing so on a dedicated photo shott but going to Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's house rules out lugging all that gear. I think my new P&S will fill the gap nicely.

Goo capture Bob. I've been looking at P&S cameras too and have been looking at the V-Lux 20.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Bob

Is that image pretty much as it came from the camera? Or did you do some post processing on it?

All I did was sharpen it a bit.
