The Eagle Files

Doing the annual spring file cleanup/archive and ran across a few eagle shots that I never processed. These are from 2009. Due to moving, house remodel, job, etc. didn't get in much bird photography last year.

This one was way under exposed. Shot in RAW so it wasn't hard to recover.

This guy passed so close by our boat that this is full frame other than cropping for format. Also the horizon was off bad enough (imagine my panic to grab the camera) that I had to do a little cloning of the water after levelling it out.

This one had the left wing clipped but I had kept it becaue it was such a great position and there was so much detail. Just cropped it to clip the other wing. Gettin a talon shot coming toward the camera is my holy grail that just can't seem to get. This is the closest I've come. He/she also had a piece of moss stuck on one talon that was a pain to clone out.

I'm running out of files. Spring can't get here quick enough :cry

The clipped wings in the last shot do not detract from this wonderful image in the least bit. thumb.gif

I might reduce the saturation on the green BG and blur it a bit....just to be picky.:D

Outstanding set, the clipped wings in the last are no problem.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Yeah, Dan, stop wining about the clipped wings, because the talons in that photo grabbed me (no pun intended) so that I barely noticed the wings. Actually, I think the clipped wings make the bird look even bigger and more threatening. Great job. Best, Pam

I'd give my eye teeth for an eagle BIF. I love the last one but agree with Ric. A less saturated bg would really make the subject pop. #3 my favorite. clap.gif
