Thanks everybody. Anna Marie, it didn't occur to me until you mentioned it, but I took this from an observation platform and the added 12' or so really changed the perspective and helped give this shot some depth. It also got the geese out from behind the reed grass in the foreground. I was hoping to find some swans to photograph here but unfortunately they were no closer than the birds in this shot. I feel lucky to have come away with this, though. Nice trade.
This image is very striking--balanced composition, diagonal lines for movement through the image, wonderfully soft colors, and emotional impact. I just love this one!
