Great Blue Heron Nesting Behavior
Several Great Blue Heron pairs are currently building nests at the Viera Wetlands. I took a little time the other day to watch this Great Blue Heron Nesting Behavior.........
1. The male GBH would search for nesting material around the lake among plants that had died during the winter freezes. He would search from 10-20 minutes before selecting the stick he wanted to use.
2. Upon selecting the stick, he would fly it back to the nest tree (at the Viera Wetlands usually a Palm Tree).
3. The female would be waiting at the nest tree for his return.
4. The male would show the stick to his mate.
5. The female would accept the the stick from the male.
6. And the stick would be added to the nest being constructed.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
