Just finished up the other days engagement shoot. I really love/hate the beach for the obvious reasons. I think the pic came out good. This one has a little skin softening about 20 percent O with totally Rad. and remote lighting sb900 controlled with Paul C Buff's triggers. Let me know what you think!

Being an engagement session, I had them cross bodies for the poses rather than put a knee inbetween her leg in a more sexual pose... Not sure if you can make this one any less lol. I wish we had pretty water and sand though (daytona beach).

Good idea but the whole thing is a bit soft and the horizon is tilted.

I agree with captain, it's too soft, IMO. That's the first thing I even noticed when the image came up. But I like the image overall, and it can certainly be edited to please anyone's taste.
I am a big fan of the "near kiss" pose they are doing, and also of the girl pulling in her man with her hands. Love it.

Thank's guys. I shoulda cropped it. The softness, this was shot like 3 days ago after the sun had gone down behind the trees, I think the focus was on his sleeve or should since it was literally so dark, but it was shot at iso 1600, 50mm 1.4 @ 1.4 1/80th sec with 1/128th Manual flash off camera to the right of me and 6 feet off of the couple.

The softness doesn't bother me that much. We used to jump through hoops to GET softness. If they like it, it's good. On the other hand, if you were looking for the sharpest image you could get, you blewed it bro. :D

I like the quality of the image, but there's something a little "off" - like the guy looks a little awkward, like he's doing push-ups or something, rather than engaging in intimacymwink.gif

I've been thinking about this all weekend...

The thing that you didn't want him laying directly on top of her with legs intertwined so that it looked a little less sexy... I don't know, I think that is where some of the awkwardness in the pose comes from. People aren't really going to be paying attention to where their knees are because they'll be looking at their faces. Honestly, I wouldn't have noticed/thought about it and whether it is more or less sexy if you hadn't mentioned it. He's on top of her so it's going to be pretty darn hot no matter where their legs are. :)

I would say that if you wanted some relatively innocent horizontal beach shots, you could have him laying on his back and then she could be on her side behind him or something, maybe resting her head on his chest, maybe propped up on an elbow, maybe leaning in toward him, see if you could work something out that way... I don't know. Just rambling here :)

I think my only having his upper body over him his legs look very awkward off to the side like that. Just my 2 cents. And yeah, try to nail the focus a bit better next time, the softness detracts from what otherwise is a pretty good shot setup.
