home page layout changes not being saved

I tried to add the slide show to my home page and it was added just fine. However when I try to edit changes to the slide show ( which gallery, speed, etc) the changes are not being saved. And now that the slide show is on my home page, but not working like I want it to, I can't get it off. I click hide but nothing happens.
When I make edits to the slide show they appear to have worked, but the when I click on visitor view I get an alert box that says 'preview failed, please refresh'. Refreshing kicks me out, and I have to log in again and none of my changes have been saved. I'm also kicked out even if I try and go into the control panel.

Thanks for getting it off.
As I mentioned, the reason I wanted it off was because I am not able to save the edits I make. I want the slide show to show my popular pics and smugmug won't save those changes.
Also I just logged on, Went directly to the control panel, clicked on the home page tab, and then I went directly back to my home page by clicking on the my homepage link. As soon as I did that, smugmug kicked me out, and I have to log in again.
Check to see if Firefox has javascript enabled: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/JavaScript
Double check the cookie setitngs too, this could be the logging out issue.
Here's the cookie settings I use:

My privacy settings are almost the same as yours, with the exception that I don't have 'remember search and form history' checked, slight security risk there, so I don't let firefox remember them.
Also, just in case, I ran a full virus scan on my computer. I came up clean. I'll try a different scanner tonight.
Strange behavior with the site. This time When I logged on, everything seemed OK. The hide button worked fine. I could navigate around without getting kicked off. But as soon as I put the slide show on my home page, I got the same problems again.
However,
I finally did manage to get the settings for the slide show as I wanted.
I tried setting them and then logging off immediately. When I logged back on, there it was working just as I wanted. And everything else seems to be fine also.
It's working the way I want it right now. I'm going to leave it as is for awhile.
