For those lucky enough to have clear skies on Saturday, the moon will be at its closest point since 1993. Get out there and shoot it!

I had already planned it as my entry for this challenge! I sat an hour (it took an extra 45 minutes for the moon to rise above the mountain range then the actual rising time given in our area) in 27f degree weather, above the partially frozen Knick Arm Inlet, watching the tide ebb from high to low with floating chunks of ice and listening to the hundreds of dogs howl in anticipation for the moons arrival (lots of mushers live in the area). And while I sat there shivering and trying to keep my camera batteries warm (I forgot to charge them *duh, slapping forhead*), I thought to myself.....either I am really deticated (addicted is more like it) to these challenges....or I am just completely nuts!

Well the jury is still out on that...but my proof is in the challenge album!

It was not very spectacular in Mumbai, India. I had planned for the photo-shoot, but was disappointed after the moon rise. Nothing special.

I live in northern New Jersey and was pretty disappointed by the supermoon. Yea, it was brighter than normal but it wasn't that dramatic. Maybe just too much light pollution from NYC, hoboken, newark etc.

JAG, I saw your photo in the challenge gallery and felt ripped off, the supermoon looked nothing like that here.

It wasn't that great here either ( Texas). It was a big disappointment since we also waited an hour past the scheduled time. Sigh.

I am so glad to hear you say that Sherry. I wasn't impressed at all and all the news stations kept going on and on about the gorgeous moon... It just didn't look that different to me in North Texas.
