Question about Manfrotto 322RC2 head

This has GOT to be a stupid question, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Just got the new ball head, attached it to the nicest tripod I've ever had, and found that I can't seem to elevate the camera above level when in landscape position. I can lower it so that I can get a great shot of the tripod legs on the ground, but it won't go up above the horizon.

***:scratch***

WHAT am I doing wrong???

Thanks!

One of the trickiest things about this head is paying attention to where you mount the quick release receiver. You've got several options, and choosing the wrong one will limit your adjustment ability in a way like you're describing. Take the head off the tripod and hold it in your hand. Figure out which ways you'd like to be able to adjust, and with which hand, and then you'll see where to mount the release plate receiver.

Do you really mean landscape, or is your problem really when in portrait mode?

Definitely it WAS landscape, but Pupator hit it on the head. MANY thanks!
