Nice. I like the subject and the way you processed this. thumb.gifthumbthumb.gif

Very nice! What really makes it is the position of the patterned legs, well back from the rest of the legs, using them as a background. Very nicely done.clap.gifclap

Thanks all for the positive feedback! I really like this shot - it has a lot of details, like the somewhat flat feet and the stockings that are not so tight around the ankles. Looking forward to making a large print.

This idea came from being at the same place each morning - the railway station - and just trying something different. It is now developing into an interesting (I think) series (gallery here). Unfortunately most people wear rather boring shoes :bluduh . I am hoping for some hairy legs in the summer rolleyes1.gif

While I love this, it did make me wonder if you knew her and placed her there. I don't know that it would take away from the shot or not.

lol--I see you have a shoe thing:) I'm looking forward to more of your observations.

No, I don't know her or placed her there. It is just a matter of luck if someone interesting steps in front of the lens. I do not carry the camera around and place it close to someone as I would always be too late. So I just sit a couple of minutes on a bench each morning and hope. When you do that a couple of months something is bound to happen at some point.

I do consider making a 'self portrait' sometime on a boring day.

I like it. I like the vertical legs with the horizontal lines, and I like the patterned tights being featured in the midst of the ordinary legs. And yes, persistence pays off.

    Nice.

I can really appreciate that sometimes "street" photography is as much about finding a good spot and sitting for a while. I'd be curious to see what the original frame looked like. Given the aspect ratio, I'm assuming there has been a big top and/or bottom crop.

Thanks Sara, Bendr and michswiss. I place the camera on the floor, for the perspective but also to be able to support the camera enough to be able to use the slow shutter speed. Hence there is a lot of floor in the picture. Not necessarily always bad, however I like the crop. The elongated shape emphasizes the movement I think.
