ok... I've been asked to create a cover for a DVD....

this is a private production company

they will provide the pictures, but i need to provide the design and such.

what should I charge for something like this...

I know this really doesn't have anything to do with photography, but i don't really know where else to go.

Thanks for any and all advice,

Steven

Well, how much do you want to make for this job? The price you charge is really up to you. But if you are looking for a jump start, how does $1000 sound?

How involved is the design, how long will it take? Modify the price based on what you know and past experience. If the company doesn't like the price, and you are willing to negotiate, then work with them to modify the design and amount of work required by you, and lower the price to convey the now simpler design or work involved.

Shay, I see you answering this type of question over and over. How about making a tutorial, maybe a sticky with all your wealth of information?

And if - for any reason - you decide to drop the ball, please point them to my direction:-)
