My Left Foot (painful disabilty photo!)

I found the first toad of the spring in my garden this afternoon, but to my horror, the poor little blighter has had a terrible life so far.
No left foot, and if you look carefully, the base of it's spine is poking out through the back end of it's body!
Having said that, it has seemingly adapted to its disabilities, because the toad was quite able to walk around a rapid rate around the side of the pond, but after I had taken a few piccies of him, I popped the said creature onto a stone in the pond itself for this shot. A minute later, it disappeared under the water, hopefully to take in some food (there are a few tadpoles just hatched which I am sure he will feast upon).
C&C as always encouraged.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

To my untrained eyes, it shows the will of life itself to adapt and continue, even in the worst of the conditions.
Spot on.
Nature is incredible.
