Snow covered Mountains in the Desert

Last month we had snow fall as low as the desert areas.
I hope the sky isn't too purple?
I wanted to keep the sky but it seemed to take away from the clouds. These are two different shots; each one in a black and white and color. Your C&C would help a lot (aside from the stick in the middle) .
I have others to process.
I know some of you are tired of snow but when our triple digits get here I'll be looking at snowy scenes a lot!

Thank you for the comment. I did back off sharpening a bit. It seems noticeable in the smaller image but when I look at the larger file it does not seem overly sharp at all. When I softened the large file it was too much....hmmmm
Thanks Guys! Appreciate the kind words!!! This series has me excited - must be the snow & desert thing!
The mountains are just north of Phoenix. It's hard to recognize the desert area when its covered in snow! We'll be wishing for snow in another month - when we loose our bragging rights!
