Can't see my photos

I currently have only two active gallery's on my web site, carsonwilcox.com and I just noticed that you can't see the images in either gallery. One of them points to a slide show and this is still working but when you go into a gallery nothing shows up. Can anyone help with this? Everything was fine yesterday.

Thanks
Carson

Just guessing here, but http://carsonwilcox.smugmug.com/Images/Florida/8635266_dptZ5#641963131_yp4f4 is working for me but http://carsonwilcox.com/Images/Florida/8635266_dptZ5#641963131_yp4f4 is not so perhaps it's a problem with your custom domain configuration. You might check out this thread and see if any of it applies to you.

I'm having the exact same issue. I don't believe it has anything to do with my customer domain since I have the same problem when I manually navigate directly into the smugmug URL. http://bantham.smugmug.com

Having the same problem. My A and CNAME records have been correctly pointed to the right places for well over a year, but today, I can't see my photos unless i put in the old me.smugmug.com address. I still get to the *site*, but no photos, just black holes and broken icons.

Opened a support request, got back the canned It Must Be You reply, just sent back detail including nslookup results showing inconsistent address replies. Hopefully they'll figure it out soon.

Hi guys, we've been trying to get your attention for a long time now regarding CNAME changes we made well over a year ago. Follow the instructions here, and if you need help, of course just write our domain heroes http://smugmug.com/help/emailreal

This IS a problem with your domain. Your domain should be a CNAME to domains.smugmug.com which it is not. When you go to http://bantham.smugmug.com and then go to a gallery, Smugmug automatically goes back to your custom domain and that's what doesn't work.

To show you that your images are working fine, check out: http://www.smugmug.com/Portraits/Abby/14484730_QQxYM#1075337515_v5BEX.

If you can't figure out how to fix it yourself, contact the Smugmug help desk and ask for the domain specialist. Smugmug has a specific person on staff that can fix this for you or tell you exactly what to change.

You didn't include a link to your site so I can't look at your site to tell for sure, but chances are your domain is not configured properly. See my post #6 in this thread or Andy's post. You probably need to change something, not wait for Smugmug to do something.

Your site is working fine for me. Can you be more specific on what problem you're seeing?

yep, I just retested and it works now. Sorry about that. False alarm.

originally, it wouldn't load pages under the custom domain, but would load everything under .smugmug.com

    It wasn't my CNAME
I verified that my A and CNAME were correct and that was not the problem. (I made no changes to the domain and yet today the site is working fine so that would tell me that the issue was not one suggested by smugmug.) If the issue was related to the CNAME then I'm assuming that I would not be able to access the site via my domain URL. In my case I could get to the site, home page, watch the slide show and click on links. Even the thumbnails were visable. But, when I would click on gallery it would display black boxes with red x's and not the photos.

Suggestion: to confirm that you have your CNAME correct go to who.is (no www; no .com or .net Just type who.is in your browser.) Enter your domain name and it will provide you will all of the info. If it shows that your CNAME is domains.smugmug.com then you've got that part right.

If your site isn't working properly and you aren't sure what to change, then contact the help desk and they can look at it directly - they have a specialist in domain configuration. An improperly configured domain may work intermittently as it may depend upon the particular CDN routing or configuration at the time. A properly configured domain should work all the time.

If your domain turns out to be configured properly and there are still problems, then you'll already be in contact with the help desk where they can look into it further.
