Whilst photographing a shieldbug I managed to disturb a mature female crab spider which fell onto the garden path. It first froze in the position it landed and then tried to scamper off.
All shots 5Dmk2/MPE-65/430Ex flash upto 4:1 mag. and focus stacked using zerene stacker.

Are you simply using continuous shooting through the focus range?

No I always use single shot and shoot roughly one shot a second when doing short stacks like these.
