Male bee fly having a rest between territorial flights - Bombylius major



Same bee fly in flight - they chase off any other flying insect that comes near them when doing this.

Wonderful shots Brian. I especially like the composition and focus of the second one. And to catch a bee in flight at that magnification (in focus) is pretty amazing.
