Heading to the Big Island and Kauai!

I am heading out to shoot on the Big Island and Kauai! Lots of fantastic ideas from folks posting in the forum! Thanks! Are there any local Smuggies that live over there?!

Any suggestions for shooting lava flows at dusk/night on the Big Island? Is it better by boat or any easy hike? Are they easy to find or should I find a guide?!

For Kauai, do you have recommendations for helicopter companies? What is the best time to go to get the most optimum light?! I might look to do a private tour to get the best time/shots.

John, I've not been to the lava fields but I read about this company from a guy who has and took some great images btw. Contact Bruce Omori and Tom Kuali'i from Extreme Exposure, get their contact info from the web. Good luck.
