Very nice Dennis!! I am really impressed with the bufflehead- those guys are so small and fast and to get that colour is fantastic. The white always blows out on mine so now that I see it can be done I will have to keep trying-lol.

Thanks very much Deb, and yes these are one of that hardest birds to capture and get the exposures just right. I glad that you are impressed and it all comes down to pratice with these little guys.
The one trick that I found is, make sure that you can see the colours on their head and neck areas, and that you can see their eyes, and down your exposure comp -1/3 or 2/3 stops. The other thing that helps is use spot meter mode and that helps at the beginning and after awhile you get used the the adjustments. Good luck and looking forward to seeeing a post from you in the near future.

Thanks Robert, and agree the lighting was very nice at the time. All these images are natural lighting and no flash used for any of these images.
