A friend contacted me about his new 7D not letting him change the ISO from what it is set at, tryed different lenses, with no luck. Took out battery too. I suggested try to set back to factory settings, but have not heard back from him yet. He called me because I have had my 7D for about 10 months. Any body experienced or heard of this problem? Thanks for any help.

A simple explanation is that he inadvertently has set his mode dial to one of the scene modes, in which ISO is automatic, at least on a 50D. Let's hope that's all it is.

Thanks Richard for your response, as I further investigated, it was found out that he dropped the camera, and is sending it back for a repair. The repair facility said it is an easy fix once they get it. Wish he would of mentioned that first.
