Here's a few pictures of my friends at the motorcross track. Track was very dry and dusty, had to change lenses in the car.

Cool shots rob! Picture #1 shows a lot of open spaces in the background. Doesn't look like they'd get any noise complaints at the track rolleyes1.gif

    Thanks,

I was shooting with my 10D and 70-200mm f/2.8L IS. The track is located in Livermore, CA very close to the Bay Area. It's mostly empty area but as with other open areas, the space is taking up quickly by housing development.

A problem I found with this track is the lack of any soft dirt. In these photos you really loose a feeling of speed without any dirt flying in the air.

Maybe lower the shutter speed a little to not freeze the spokes, or perhaps a little pan.

    Rob,

Take a look at this thread: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=19594

See how they used a little slower shutter speed, so the tires/spokes show motion blur while keeping the rider sharp.

I believe this would greatly improve the sense of speed in your pictures.

Nice Rob! Looks like maybe a little rain might help that dirt a bit.

I like the first one. Nice comp, great bokeh.

Rob I esp. like that second set of shots. I noticed that your shots were a little flat-lacking punch and that they do not have an embedded color profile. They should be uploaded in RBGs color space. I know you were more interested in capturing the moment on the track which I think you did a good job of esp using the 10d.....................Mereimage
