Ready for a new exercise? Shoot a stranger or strangers, without asking permission, from within 12 feet, from the waist down. Yes, you may shoot just feet if you want to. Yes, you may shoot from the knees down. The point is that I don't want to see anything of your subjects from the waist up. I'll leave the details on setting this up to Richard - but let's say the deadline for posting ONE IMAGE is Sunday, April 10.

Does it have to be fresh, or can it be an oldie?

Fresh. If you have an older shot that has not been posted, you could put it in a separate thread, but this is an exercise. deal.gif

Nice! Saw this in your original thread and thought it would fit here. Only thing missing are red laces on the sneaker in the back...

I love the idea of this exercise. I just seem to be stuck in torso mode right now...

@Liz: The visible sandwich gave me a good laugh. Nice catch.

@Patti: Three for the price of one. Good composition and nice tonal range.

I like the contrast of the tattoo on the right hand and the shoes that instantly took me back to the nuns who taught me in school. Great shot. I like the processing too. thumb.gif

Very nice. Was this a grab shot or one you had to wait for?

    Thanks!

I stayed there about five minutes and took about eight shots to land this one.

It's too bad nobody in really high heels passed by, but I still like the result. The white/black juxtaposition works well.

So far, I think the feet vying for the much sought after glass slipper are those offered by Syncopation, Rainbow, and Sara's green feet. There are other excellent offerings - I especially like Richard's legs though I'd chop off the foot, which I find distracting, but the three I mentioned are each pretty special.

    Rainbow!
It just hit me--when did you take that shot?
I'm thinking for the "Kubrick challenge"--It kind of screams Kubrick to me.

EDIT--WEll done to the glass slipper contenders!
I definately should have tried a little harder.

    Fun!

Full disclosure: the other two are old (some day I'll start reading first, then doing, something that has never been my strong suit :-) ), but the green sneakers were shot just the other day.

Apologies for the haste of mine, but the only other pic I have which might fit, is this one:

    622596186_5qXKW-XL-1.jpg

which has been used before, and is about 40 years old (the pic that is; the legs are at least double that by now!)

It looks 40 years old - and it's wonderful. The stolid, stockinged legs and "sensible" shoes on the right, the high heeled slim boots and higher hemlined coat on the left - fantastic. To say nothing of the light, the water - great shot, Wil
