I've worked with everything from total newbies to Elite runway models and Alina is the one who always takes my breath away.

Here she is in a series of headshots shot through a 6 foot ringlight. As a happy accident, check out her necklace and bracelet. I wish I could say I planned that.:wink

As always, click the first image for the full gallery.

A true beauty, she doesn't need her hair to be gorgeous.

Thanks guys. Can you tell I love this model??iloveyou.gif

Hackbone, the actual light color in this ring is HORRIBLE. I always shoot a gray card (in RAW) when I use it.

Lovely images and gorgeous model ....... but the thing that caught my attention the most was "6 foot ringlight" (sad I know!!).

My wallet is already seizing up, but I've got to ask, Is that a self-build unit or where did you get that?
If at first you don't succeed - maybe sky diving isn't for you.

Warped - the six foot ringlight is home grown. Here's a look at it:

Thanks for that - my wallet is breathing a sigh of relief - I had in mind a single piece, 6ft diameter flouro ring tube that I was sure would cost a fortune :)

My previous life is as an electronics technician in the Royal Australian Navy, and I can usually work with wood or metal without too serious an injury ocurring, so might take a crack at something similar in the future.

Lighting aside, love the images and colours - great work.

Go for it Warped. Just be aware that the light color is HORRIBLE SOOC so I always shoot a gray card first even in RAW. Saves me a ton of time in PP.

Here's another view of the setup SOOC with NO color correction. Alina is gorgeous even as a Martian.iloveyou.gif

...... just need to either work out a good hidey-hole in the garage/shed, or have a good excuse ready for the wife about where the new light came from when there's other things still needing to be built around the house :)

John, there is a big time senior photographer who does a series called Copper Tone with the same light as SOOC. So don't throw that idea away on a few.
