Google maps and customised galleries

I want to create a google map unique to a location and not have the standard google map.

Since creating these pages, I have lost the thread that described how to create the maps and get the html code for the maps. I did have it bookmarked but, following a computer crash, I have lost it.

Can anyone help me find it again please? I have searched but it did not reveal the post.
