I have several more to process - different angles, different locations. Maybe stitch a pano together.
Critique welcome.

And after shooting these, I bought the dh curry for dinner! mmmmm...food:food

I think it is a nice shot but maybe needs a little something to give it "pop". Maybe the "Rutt special", LAB adjustment that is, like in [thread=19292]this thread[/thread]. Maybe play with the curves or contrast. Or maybe I just need to get a calibrated monitor.

I like the contrasting colours of the sky and the autumn trees, lovely picture thumb.gif

    Hi glu

Interesting that you find this needs more contrast. I did both a curves adjustment and added some saturation, after I ran highlight/midtones/shadows. I want to be able to see and differentiate the reflections on the river, but not completely blow the bright parts of the buildings. The river is about 20 feet or so from the upper bank, and the buildings are built on even higher ground, so exposing it all can be challenging. However, I appreciate the comments and try adding more, more, more. I am quite conservative when I edit. Perhaps I shouldn't be. And, of course, there is the fact that Edmonton is a very architecturally boring city!

    Thanks

Thanks, gubbs. Never know how long the leaves will stay, or when you will get a bright blue sky around here. This one is at least better than a fully grey sky!

I think your new [thread=19434]thread[/thread] is much improved color wise. I knew you could boost the color in these shots with losing minimal detail in the shadows and not blowing the brighter parts. I have a hard time editing my own shots when it comes to color so I try to give my opinion when others post because sometimes it helps to get that second opinion.
