I've never had these files upload until recently. I'm using the simple uploader as I always have. Anyone else seen this lately?

    Yep, sure do:

They're jpg files with a thm extension created by my Sony any time I shoot video. I've always just dragged all the files and it would just drop the thms. Seems like this has changed? headscratch.gif

So that's a jpg file, like any other. And we accept JPG files.

But the uploader used to never accept them before. When was this changed?

Samir, are you complaining that Smugmug changed things to accept something that is actually a JPEG file but might have a different file extension? Sorry, but I can't side with you on this one. If you don't want something uploaded, don't drag it into the uploader.

I'm not really complaining, I'm just trying to find out if this is a new bug introduced by the latest round of changes or something I've missed that was a bug fix or a new feature. ne_nau.gif

I'm sure these could always have been uploaded using olde faithful. That thing didn't really care what it was fed, lol.

We'd always accept a jpg file - your file has the extension jpg - not thm - did something change in terms of how your files are made?

I just looked at my originals and they're still .thm. I'm still uploading the same way I've done for years. I never rename anything. headscratch.gif It's definitely not on my end, that's why I posted.

I'm well aware of the format of the file.

My question is, for the 3rd time, why has the uploader started accepting jpg files with a .thm extension all of a sudden? It has NEVER accepted them since I signed on in 2005, and you can tell my ancient camera is from 2005 too so nothing has changed there either. It's not me, period.

Hi Samir, I'm sorry you are upset about this :( I'm unaware of changes made to accept .thm files. Can you please email me the original file that I posted above? Send it to our help desk, ATTN: Andy so I can have a look at it. Thanks.

That's what I needed to know. I'll do some more research on my end, and I'll email you one of the original .thm files. Thank you Andy.

I think I may have figured it out. And my apologies as I believe it WAS on my side. bowdown.gif I had uploaded part of that gallery using smugftp. Apparently, smugftp takes the .thm files and uploads them to SM without a problem. I uploaded the same images to another gallery using simple uploader and there were no .thm files there, which is what I usually see.

I knew there was a bug somewhere, but it's in smugftp rather than something with simple uploader.

Sorry for the fuss. I just didn't need another wrench in my workflow this week.
