#73 RUSH EMT's

I posted my entry in the contest already, but I am open to C&C. A re-shoot is only going to happen if luck is on my side in the next few days. I do have some other versions I could work on in Photoshop. Did I over process this? It seems a little vivid? Can Someone tell me how to Make a EXIF "LINK" instead of putting the whole URL below my title? I want just a shortcut link to the EXIF Files without seeing the whole long URL below my photo title. :scratch

OK here is the image; I was looking for Action Shots of a Ambulance and then I edited this one to turn ALL the lights on at once.

"Rush to help others"

For me, I think a lights and sirens shot might be better if taken after the sun goes down.

Good Point. I do not go into the city at night if I do not have to. (live in middle of nowhere) Will have to work with what I can capture.

Maybe work with a volunteer fire department or ambulance corp in your area. They might enjoy it.

Here is how to link your exif:

I think for a street/pj shot, it's fine - that type of shot is not my forte, so take what I say with a big grain of salt. I would probably crop the very top to remove that extra wire (just above the u turn sign) & to the tree on the right - the rest there is a little distracting. I like the way the ambulance is in the middle of the intersection with the cars stopped, to me that gives it the sense of urgency, especially since you can't show the lights flashing in a photo (I'm pretty sure you can't enter a .gif but that would look cool! :D).

do you have a fire / police department near you?

if yes, just talk to them. A while back I had a project on where I needed multiple color lights, and a vehicle involved.. we ended up talking to the fire dept folks, and they ran emergency lights for us for 15 minutes while I shotrolleyes1.gif

Still Looking for more Police or EMT's been quite on my drives.... I thought a police speed trap would say "RUSH"

    Does THIS Image say Rush? <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/ne_nau.gif" border="0" alt="" >

If it were me, I would use motion to convey a sense of urgency. So maybe a shot using second curtain flash to give you a little "tail" if you will? A static shot isn't going to give that same feel because it is static.

This came to me as well, but since you beat me to it, I'll give ya the rest of my idea maybe you can get it...I would try sitting beside a hospital (parking lot...ER) and get a pic of the EMT's getting the patient out in a RUSH...into the building from the Ambulance...that scenario indicates RUSH to me :)

I did stake out the ER EMT area twice of 2 different hospitals.... it was a slow day... no emergencies, during my "stake out" / lunch break.

if you have a chance for more stakeouts.. why not shoot with just low shutter speed

    for this kind of effect:

right after I typed this....I looked out my window, and dont you know my neighbor was being RUSHED to the hospital in an ambulance...I got them taking her out....but alas....since it was my neighbor I didnt feel it was right to walk right out my front door and take the pics in my front yard, so I took them through the window rolleyes1.gif wanna see them? ne_nau.gif they are from far...and through the screen but it's what I was going for...just...not through the screen, and not my neighbor. headscratch.gif

best time to get shots of EMTS rushing people...(best 2 times actually)...between 5-7 a.m. when all the older folks are waking up and finding themselves in distress and at 2 a.m. when all the bars close.
I worked in the ER for 2 years...those were the busiest times hands down.

Fortunately I live a nice stable life in the country with my triplets now, I will not be near an ER at those hours unless I am in it!

I am thinking of changing my entry to:

I'm not sure which I like better for the challenge. The ambulance is in the intersection, running a red light. I like the multiple exposure effect on the white car in rushing down the road.

I really prefer the ambulance - & so far, yours is the only emergency vehicle in the gallery, but there are several motion-blurred cars. Just my 2c.
